Well, I have not been able to watch the Lost Season Finale. As I'm typing this, it's going on, in all it's mysterious, awesome glory. Alas, alack, I didn't plan well.
My neighbors invited me over for a steak dinner. In order to plan, and not miss the finale, I decided I'd tape it. I went online, to see when the next episode would air. I arrived at some website, (that shall now forever be considered anathema), called TV.com. On it, they stated that the next episode of Lost would air today, and that it would be a 60 minute episode, starting at 8:00.
All through dinner, I was looking forward to the conclusion of our conversation, and coming home to watch a tape of the Finale.
I settled down, pushed play, and was baffled by what I saw. All I found through the first two commercial breaks was a synopsis. I didn't need a synopsis, so I started fastforwarding. Much to my horror, I discovered about half way through the tape that all of this hour long episode was nothing more than a synopsis. It was at that moment, that a sentence from Scott's blog that I had read just before pushing play came clanging to the forefront of my consciousness: "So don't bother calling me between eight and eleven o'clock this evening." I don't watch ABC--I had no idea there was a two hour finale. (I think it's time for a beer...or three.)
At that moment, I stopped the tape, turned on ABC, and there, at 10:00, I saw things I shouldn't have seen. Sad, sad, sad.
All I can hope is that some technophile will be geeky enough to post the season finale on Limewire at 11:00 tonight, so I can download it and watch it in the morning. I purposely caught up so I could watch that finale with the rest of America. I got robbed.
It's 10:20 right now. The TV is silent. Can you say how I feel? It starts with an L.
Damn!
