Home, Sweet Home

I made it back today from my trip out west, safe and sound, for which I am grateful. It was just over 3500 miles, 3504.7 to be exact. I used 125 gallons of gas, and my average speed was 61.9 mph over the course of my journey. I don't know why these newer cars keep track of this information, but I like it. I think I get it from my dad, who is a chronic archivist of all things having to do with cars and mileage and basic auto maintenance. (He could probably tell you when he had oil changes back in 1987.) I had a mission on my trip out to get my average speed as high as possible, and got it up to 70, which meant for about half of that journey I was going around 84 mph. Giddy up!

Anyway, I'm babbling about unimportant things for no apparent reason, other than my suspicion that next year, when I go on this trip again, I'll be curious to know the particulars of this year's trip.

I'll have a few posts in a couple of days, with some pictures of my trip across America.

For now, however, here's something completely different, a link to a television program where my brother talks about his conversion to the Catholic Church and subsequent call to the priesthood.

You can see it here: http://www.renewalministries.net/audio/tcwf_0618.ram

Thanks for the interview link, Dan - I enjoyed that.

Glad you're back safe and sound. I haven't much felt like writing lately myself - need to get back into it.
