Crescent Moon

I was running around late this afternoon, doing last minute shopping between Nutcracker performances. The traffic was terrible, the lines were insanely long, and everyone looked frenzied and stressed.

As I was walking into another store, I happened to look up into the sky. It was dusk, just after a glorious sunset, rare this time of year, and there was still a rosy orange glow in the western sky. Some clouds were lit up by the last rays of the sun, and above it all hung the thinnest of crescent moons, with an edge that was razor sharp. I was struck with the beauty of I saw in the sky. I forgot about Christmas shopping and I was transported to someplace else, just for a moment. I decided that all was well with the world.
