Bathroom Funk

So I finished ripping up the second layer of subfloor today in my bathroom. I feel like I'm at an archaeological dig. This floor is amazingly ugly, uglier than the last, believe it or not.

Check it out:

What's bizarre about this, is that the floor seems to have a funky stench to it...a smell I'm not familiar with. Who knew this was just waiting to be unleashed all these years?

And it begs the question: did it smell like this 50 years ago?

This is as low as I'm going. The good thing about the stench is I'll be motivated to put that baby under wraps again, and soon!

I think it's great that you are plugging away at this after wanting to for so long.

A little bit every day and eventually it will done. That is my plan with our laundry room. I'll keep you posted.

Yeah, that's my mode...and as I go along, I'm gaining momentum to keep going. Friday and Saturday will be spent working in there too. Gotta finish up the last little bits on the flooring, probably rip up the floor around the toilet and replace that, then it's on to getting the wallpaper down, then I'll be at a point where I can start putting the new subfloor in and start thinking about the electricity and the exhaust fan. Should have this thing done by the end of the season, which will be a great relief.

I'm thinking of having a bathroom warming party. You're invited to use my new bathroom, and please bring a package of Charmin with you to the shindig.

We'll christen the room by busting open a bottle of Febreze on the commode.
