I was curious to find out when they'd be notifying finalists or winners, and I discovered it's all going to be starting within a week or so.
Thirty (30) semi-finalists will be announced on or around 6/4/07, five (5) finalists will be announced on or around 8/20/07, and one (1) Grand Prize Winner will be announced on or around November 12, 2007 by employees or agents of the Sponsors, whose decision will be final. Semi-finalists and finalists' cookie recipes (entered in their Submissions) may be adapted and manufactured for cookie taste testing. The Grand Prize Winner's cookie recipe will be adapted by Mrs. Fields to become the official 30th Anniversary Cookie and will, in Mrs. Fields' sole discretion, be sold at all participating Mrs. Fields store locations in the U.S., online at mrsfields.com, and may be offered through Mrs. Fields approved distributors on or about November 2007.
I think this is where the voting might have to come into play. I read the rules again, and honestly, the biggest percentage of consideration is the story, at 40%. I should have looked at that before submitting my recipe, but I'm sure glad I included something about my grandmother and her dream. I should have added to it, instead of just talking about the cookie, but oh well--it's done. Bottom line though is that I do think it's one of the cookies that stands out visually from the pack, or at least I hope so.

Hey Dan, I just went to vote for your cookie and ran into a few problems. First, there is no mention of voting on the page that shows your cookie photo and recipe, the link that you have posted below. Not able to vote from your page, I went to the Mrs. Fields site, but there is no link to the contest at all from the Mrs. Fields home page--not even the slightest mention of its existence. I went to iVillage and dug around, had to do a search for the contest to even find it, but when I finally got there and found the voting categories, your recipe was not among the listings for chocolate cookies. I checked in all the other categories in case it was misplaced, but it is nowhere to be found.
Thought you might want to know this bit of info, if you don't already.
Hi Sherry,
Thanks--I just ran into the same problem. Found the voting page, clicked on chocolate, and zippo.
I then clicked on every other category, and nothing--talk about frustration!
I then went back to the front page of the voting, and saw this phrase:
Check back very soon to weigh in on the remaining categories and to see the results!
It seems they're putting this up in stages, so hopefully by the end of the afternoon, people will be able to vote. And thanks for being willing to vote for me! Hmm...and would you be willing to put a post up about my cookie, for your friends in the blogosphere to vote for? I'm hoping for a grassroots groundswell of support, and you seem to be a well read blogger! I'm hoping my four other blogging buddies might do the same.
And I'm planning on getting all of my friends over at the Forestry Forum to vote for me too--that could be about 1,000 people. :-)
