It's a Blitzkrieg

Thanks to everyone's who's been voting so far! I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of votes--I started my grassroots campaign, and I'm getting signs that it's working! First step: I sent an email to 60 of my friends, urging them to ask their friends and colleagues to vote too. Well, late last night, I received an email from a stranger, asking me to clear up the voting procedure for her. And then several people have written me, telling me that they would be forwarding my message on to their friends. This morning, I heard from several people I know, but whom I didn't email, stating that they had cast their ballot for my entry. Giddy up!

Second step: post the link on the Forestry Forum, one of my constant haunts on the internet. This is a fiercely loyal bunch, and since yesterday afternoon, my message has been read 308 times, with 52 replies. I bet I've gotten about 200 votes out of that post alone.

Third step: my blogging buddies have put a link up on their blogs, spreading the word to even more people, so I thank them immensely.

I think people find it a bit amusing, and something different and out of the ordinary, so they're happy to register a vote. I guess I've never voted for a cookie before now either, so it isn't every day someone asks you to vote for their cookie. The only rub: a lot of people are expecting cookies now, but I'm happy to oblige.

In a different vein, I think I'm going to start my experimentations for the cake competition tonight.

Hi! I'm a blogging friend of Sherry and I voted for your cookie. Good luck! Can't wait to see what you do with the cake :)
