Where I was today...

I went flying today! A friend of my buddy Bob's host is a pilot, and offered to take us up for about an hour or so. It was a lot of fun, even though most of the coast was fogged in. Santa Cruz was the only sunny spot on the central coast. We had hoped to fly down Big Sur, but maybe that will happen next year.

What your looking at is the Santa Cruz beach. The jetty sticking out into the bay is called Fisherman's Wharf, home of restaurants and shops, and down below is a resting spot for seals and sea lions. It's hard to pick out the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, but that's along the shore, just north of the wharf. There's a great roller coaster there called the Big Dipper, that I think Tanner and I will ride when he comes and visits.

The flight today is definitely a highlight of the trip for me so far!

If you click on the picture, you can see the rides at the board walk after all. I guess I uploaded a rather large file...

Just beyond that long building, (which used to house a casino back in the day), you can see some of the rides.

Dan! I'm so happy that you're having a great time! Give Tanner a hug for his birthday from me.
We miss you.

I'll be seeing Tanner today, in about five hours or so, and I'll pass on your greetings. I'll try to get some pictures too.

I miss you guys too, and I'll look forward to Blitzin' it up, and having some pie.

And we should plan on an Allegan trip to that antique show--it's the last Sunday of August. You guys up for it?

Not to diminish pie, but what about ribs? I'm ready to leave it all on the field Mr. Chef.

I did say it was the summer of the rib too.

That's a promise I need to fulfill.

And will.

Oh, and one more little tidbit. There was a brief article about my cookie in the Press on Wednesday, apparently.

My rib anxiety is relieved, thank you.
