Some Poetry

A Note on Human Passion

Sacred or profane
--it does not matter--
one must not anaesthetize
or dull the pain
but instead sustain
the splintered heart's
helpless yet terrifying
and sharp desire
never to be healed
of the wound of living.

Fascinating poem. It makes me think of the scars that our Lord bears, will bear for eternity, and what they mean for all of us. It makes me wonder if we too will bear our own scars into eternity - redeemed, translated into proclamations of love.
