Hulk Hogan's a crazy man, or what I wouldn't do with a million bucks.

I was at the mall tonight, shopping for curtain rods, of all things. It seemed that at every turn I was surrounded by a legion of high school students, cruising the mall and basically just being teenagers. They all looked so young, decked out in similar styles, cookie cutter images of each other. As I rode down the escalator behind a young foursome, I realized how glad I am that I'm my age; that I'm not in high school, or college, or any age other than what I am now.

I don't mind the things that make me look my age. I'm very happy with my balding head--it's low maintenance. Amongst the lone survivors, I have a lot of grey hairs. They show up in my beard as well, and I kind of like it. No Just For Men for me! I don't even mind the wrinkles I'm getting. Who the heck cares? I'm my age, and I'm content to look it.

Recently, I was flipping through the channels and stumbled on yet another asinine "reality" show. Hulk Hogan apparently has a show about his family (anybody TiVoing that puppy?), and on the blurb that I happened to catch, his son was turning 16. "The Hulk" was planning a big birthday bash for the kiddo, and during the planning, he told his son that he'd give a million bucks to be 16 again. If I had a million bucks, I'd pay it not to go back!

Seeing those kids running around the mall made me think about back in high school. I certainly have fond memories of those years, and the same goes for college, but I am very content to have those years behind me. I don't want to be younger, and I don't want to be older, just yet--I'm fine where I am. My mind and spirit just happen to fit this 36 year old body I've got just fine. I'm content to tread along, one day at a time, growing a little bit older, if not wiser, with each passing day.

It's good to be my age. I plan on saying that the rest of my life.
