At the airport...

You know, it's strange how random thoughts change because of the condition of the world. When I was younger, and thought about flying, there was a fear of malfunction of the airplane. There were no other reasons for alarm. But now, as I sit in the airport, the continuous announcements over the intercom remind me that we are in a different age. Those random thoughts are now of the possibility of a malevolent, hateful individual finding himself on the plane I'm about to board. I trust the airplane now, but in today's world, we don't trust the passengers.

A fleeting thought at a mention of the fact that we are in a state of "orange" alert reminds me of the reality of the change of situation.

Though I know I'll make it home just fine, I'll still say to my friends and family: I love you all dearly.

So when I die at a ripe old ate of 85, remember this post.

I'm soon to be home!

Dan
