I'm planning a party here in a couple of weeks, and it's going to be an apple party--all things apple, and part of it will be a hard cider tasting. One of the guys at work is a real oenophile and knows everything about wines and spirits. He's a friend, and so I sent him an email invitation, asking him if he'd be willing to help with the tasting.
He sent me an email response, asking if it would be OK for his father to come to the party, since his dad's in town that weekend.
I'll say yes, of course.
His dad is the CEO of Delphi, and he was one of Lee Iacocca's right hand men at Chrysler.
It will be strange having him in my humble home. And my first floor bathroom doesn't even have a ceiling right now. But I'm having my party anyway.
Bottom line: what you see is what you get!

What's really strange about this--I have some friends who are big union guys, and they know all about this guy's dad, who's sort of the anti-union guy. The union friend of mine said he'd be afraid what he might say to the man if he had a few drinks in him.
And there a couple of people who have been scratched off the party list...
