A little home repair

I spent half the afternoon putting a gutter up...on my neighbor's garage. Or at least the side of the roof that empties towards my garage. My garage was drowning inside with all kinds of water, a perennial problem for me that I've slowly been trying to fix. I put gutters up all around my garage last fall, and hoped that might be enough, but given the large amount of snowfall and the warm weather in recent days, the space between our garages turned into a swimming pool and there was no sign of the water going down.

I'm pleased to say that an hour or two after I finished putting the last section of gutter in place, the standing water was gone. It's satisfying to know it fixed the problem--or at least part of the problem. I think I'll still need to regrade in between our two garages some this summer, which won't be fun. But it's worth it, if I can keep the moisture out of the garage.

Replacing old and worn out carpet is one of the easiest and most inexpensive of all do it yourself home repairs. Carpet that is in poor condition affects both the value and the livability of the home, and the many do it yourself carpet kits make ripping up the old carpet and installing the new carpet a relatively simple matter.best chainsaws
