25

I hit the 25 lbs. down mark today. I'm halfway to the goal I've set for myself to reach by New Year's. I believe 25 more between now and then is very doable.

I'm shrinking--giddy up!

Yippee! Sorry to miss you at class tonight. I was at a lake with the kids, stealing the last of summer.

You'd better do some hundreds at home then, and do that darn spine-stretch forward as penance.

Thanks for the shout out about the 25 el-bees.

Onward and downward!

Hehe - nice Lewis perversion, may it only be in our weight.

You're putting me to shame, brother. Maybe I should take some encouragement from it and get my own mass moving.

Congratulations on your success.

Hey Scott,

No time like the present--you should check out that You: On a Diet. It's sobering stuff. I suppose my main motivation is to feel better about myself, but the most important motivation is to be healthier. I'm scared at what will happen to me if I don't do something now, before it's too late. I think the hardest part is the first 20 lbs. Then you're on this euphoric high that keeps you going and going. At least that's what happened to me the last time I did this, though I hope that this time it will stick. I'm determined that it will. The low carb thing really works for me, but I think it's a heck of a lot easier doing it if you're a single guy--I can get all distractions out of the house, but when you have kiddos who have cereal and cookies and the like--that has to be very hard. But I'm amazed what walking has done for me too. I'm doing Pilates twice a week, and trying to walk a half hour or so three times a week. I started out at 270! But I tell you I feel a heck of a lot better at 245, though that's a heck of a lot of tonnage to be carrying around too. But I'm on a mission, and here's the thing: I've got tremendous motivation too.

It's at the front of the queue and will be on its way - would have been if not for Columbus Day. Columbus screws with the natural order of things again. Sheesh.

Ah...that's why they didn't pick up my movies. Drat! I couldn't figure out what holiday it was.
